We have one Sunday Worship gathering which begins at 9:00 AM. We worship in song and spend time in corporate prayer. Following a brief break, we resume our corporate worship with Bible study. Typically, our Sunday worship concludes by 11:30AM, after which we enjoy a time of fellowship. Families are encouraged to worship together (children of all ages with the parents). We strive to support parents in their God-given role as the spiritual leaders and teachers of their children. We structure accommodations for parents according to this model. If a parent chooses to take a child from the auditorium, a room equipped with furnishings and toys suitable for nursing, naps, and quiet play is available. For older children, there is also a large room with video feed from the main auditorium where parents can watch the Bible teaching with their child. Other areas are equipped with speakers so parents and children may listen to the Bible study anywhere in the building.
Our worship setting is informal, yet reverent to God. Our only dress-code is modesty. Instead of pews our auditorium is furnished with tables and chairs. This is because we want folks to be comfortable studying their Bible and taking notes if they like. While we teach biblical tithing and member's responsibility to support the local church, we do not pass a plate for offerings at TBSC. This can be uncomfortable for some and makes financial giving too "public" for others. Instead, an offering box is located in the foyer. Prayer is an important part of our worship time. We typically spend about twenty minutes sharing prayer requests and praying together. Although voicing a request or praying aloud is not expected, it is certainly encouraged for mutual support. The Bible teaching which completes our worship time typically lasts one hour. Our method of study is to work through a book from beginning to end. Occasionally, however, we have topical studies on specific biblical subjects. We also have special services on Mothers and Fathers Day, and to honor the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ as well as His death and resurrection.
As explained in our About TBSC page, all persons are welcome. The Bible Study Center is here to serve you on your journey to know the God of the Bible. Our goal is to help everyone hear, understand, and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. Why? Because He has proven that He is trustworthy, that His word is true, and that only in Him is eternal life. Of course we must become and remain obedient by faith in the gospel of Jesus through an understanding of His precepts and the practical ministry of being a living sacrifice. We realize this is a growth process for each of us and not everyone will be at the same place at the same time. God, throughout the Bible, has made it clear to us that we cannot "clean up" to please Him or to fellowship with Him. We can only begin or continue a journey that allows us to find out who He is and to express our faith in Him. When we truly believe and obey Him, He can change our lives in incredible ways. But, we must reach out to God and make an effort to get to know Him because it is impossible to entrust your eternal soul to someone you don't know and know well. Begin the journey with us or, if you are already on your way, join us as we grow and walk with God. | |||
